Sean Patrick Flanery

Ben Martin

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, Flanery attended University of St Thomas in Houston where he took a drama class because of a girl.  The girl was a short infatuation, but he found true love in college theater.

Flanery has had an extensive acting career, starting with his explosive career making performance as the mesmerizing title character in the feature film "Powder," performing opposite Jeff Goldblum.  Since then, Flannery has starred in a number of feature films, such as "The Grass Harp," "Simply Irresistible," "Suicide Kings," the cult hit "The Boondock Saints" and "Body Shots."

Flanery has also been quite successful on the small screen.  He began his television career in a huge way, starring in the series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” for George Lucas as the teenaged version of the iconic hero, a role which the late River Phoenix originated in the prologue of “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”  He also starred in "The Strip", the short-lived Jerry Bruckheimer series, and the miniseries “The Diamond Hunters."  From 2002 – 2007, Flanery walked on the dark side as politician Greg Stinson, opposite Anthony Michael Hall in USA Network’s “The Dead Zone,” based on the Stephen King novel and in 2009 starred in “Citizen Jane” for Hallmark Channel opposite Ally Sheedy and Meat Loaf Aday.

A triathlete who has earned a black belt in karate, Flanery won the 1997 Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach as the celebrity driver.  He later went on to ‘defend’ his title as an official driver, winning the same race in 1998.
