At just 11 years old, Mason Cook is already making his mark on film and television. Cook, who starred in last summer’s “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World,” recently joined the cast of two upcoming feature films and a television pilot.
Cook co-stars opposite Eddie Izzard, Jerry O’Connell, Portia de Rossi and Charity Wakefield in NBC’s “Mockingbird Lane.” The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and directed by Bryan Singer, is a reinvention of the 1960’s sitcom about “The Munsters.” Cook plays Eddie Munster, Lily and Herman’s only child, an earnest boy scout and budding werewolf. Horrified to learn the truth about himself, he refuses to eat meat and faces off against Grandpa (Izzard) at dinner.
Cook will also star as Will in Jerry Bruckheimer’s adaptation of “The Lone Ranger” for Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Gore Verbinski, “The Lone Ranger” stars Armie Hammer as “The Lone Ranger” and Johnny Depp as Tonto. The film is currently filming and is scheduled to be released in 2013.
Cook also stars as the Young Burt Wonderstone in New Line’s “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” starring Steve Carell, Jim Carrey and Olivia Wilde. He plays the young Carell in the comedy, set in the world of rival Las Vegas magicians in which one member of a successful two-man team dies in a stunt. The surviving member must then find a way to rediscover his love for magic.
In 2011, Cook starred as Cecil Wilson in the hit family film, “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.” With Armageddon quickly approaching, Cecil and his twin sister must rely on their wits and some mind-blowing gadgets to try and save the world.
Cook has made numerous television appearances including roles on “Desperate Housewives,” “Criminal Minds,” “Hot in Cleveland” and recurring roles on “The Middle” and “Raising Hope.” He also stars in the Disney family comedy “Treasure Buddies” and “Wyatt Earp’s Revenge” starring Val Kilmer, both recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Cook enjoys art, BMX biking and skateboarding. He loves animal and nature shows, and of course, playing video games with his friends and brother. A native of Oklahoma City, Cook is in the fifth grade and resides in Los Angeles with his father, three siblings and their two dogs.
