James Gregory Vaughan, Jr. was born in Dallas, Texas and was raised there as well as the small German town of Fredericksburg.  Before graduating high school, he was discovered in a community back-to-school fashion show and was immediately signed by a local modeling agent.

With the opportunity to travel the world, he ventured to Milan, Italy just months after high school graduation.  Upon arrival, Vaughan landed prestigious campaigns for the legendary designers Giorgio Armani and Gianni Versace, as well as Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.  The nomadic lifestyle came to an end through his mother's influence when she encouraged him to follow his true passion: acting.

Vaughan made first role as a series regular was Josh Walker in the popular Aaron Spelling series “Malibu Shores.”  This soon led to “Beverly Hills 90210,” in which Vaughan played Cliff Yeager.  Roles in small independent films followed, including the popular cult films “Poison Ivy,” “The New Seduction” and “Children of the Corn V.”

Guest star credits include roles in such series as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Any Day Now,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and “Nash Bridges,” as well as the controversial dramedy pilot “Student Affairs” for Imagine Television.  Vaughn may be best known for his role as Dan Gordon on the hit series “Charmed.”  After that series ended, he went on to star as Milo Mosley in “Glory Days,” the highly anticipated WB series from Kevin Williamson.

He eventually made his way into daytime with the role of Diego on CBS “The Young & The Restless,” which earned him rave reviews as well as a nomination for Daytime Best Newcomer and a coveted spot as one of the sexiest men alive in 2002 in People’s annual sexiest man issue.  Vaughn also found time for comedy with guest roles on “Will & Grace” and “Still Standing.”  He went on to land the role of Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital” and after

departing, he had a recurring role on the hit CW series “90210,” followed by the independent film “Borderline Murder.”  Other credits include roles on “The Closer,” the ABC-Family pilot “Jane by Design,” the ABC series “Good Christian Belles” and lead roles in the television movies “Love’s Christmas Journey” and “Second Chances.”

In addition to his busy acting career, Vaughan is also the father to three children.
