Della Reese was a performer for most of her life. She began singing when she was 6 years old and toured with a gospel group when she was a teenager. Her television career came to the fore with her role as Tess on Touched by an Angel after many years of guest-starring roles. They included parts on “Promised Land,” Macgyver,” “Picket Fences,” L.A. Law,” and many more.
Della passed away at the age of 86 in 2017.
