John Dye made his feature film debut in "Making the Grade." His subsequent film credits include "Perfect Weapon," "The Best of the Best," "Mother, Mother," "Big Man on Campus," "Sioux City," "Campus Man" and "Modern Girls." Dye's television credits include regular roles in "Hotel Malibu" and "Tour of Duty" and "Jack's Place." He also appeared in the mini-series "The Billionaire Boys Club" and guest starred in the CBS series "Promised Land."
Dye was born in Amory, Mississippi. After “Touched by an Angel” came to an end, Dye relocated to San Francisco. Despite his youth, Dye passed away at age 47 in early 2011.
