Christmas Comes Home to Canaan

Gina Holden

Briony

Gina Holden was born in the small mountain town of Smithers, British Columbia, where her first performance took place at a figure skating exhibition at age five.  She has been at home on center stage ever since.  As a precocious and outgoing child, Holden performed in all her school plays and talent shows.

At the age of fifteen, Holden was scouted by a modeling agency and sent to work in Japan.  Professionally, Japan was a major break.  Holden was successful in modeling and appeared on upwards of twenty magazine covers, but modeling was never her passion.  While her talent and drive gave her a taste of success, modeling was ultimately a stepping-stone to bigger things. Holden took acting classes to develop her skills and soon after established herself as one of Canada’s leading actresses.

Holden has a list of impressive film and television credits to her name.  Television credits include guest starring roles on CW’s “Supernatural,” “Smallville,” ABC’s “Legend of the Seeker,” CBS’s “Flashpoint” and The Hub Network’s “The Haunting Hour.”  Holden also held series recurring roles on CBS’s “Life Unexpected,” “Harper’s Island” and Lifetime Network’s “Blood Ties.”  Some of Holden’s film roles include “Screamers 2,” “Alien vs. Predator” and “Final Destination 3.”

Holden’s acclaimed work in the horror genre recently earned her a 2010 Eyegore Award, which she accepted with fellow honorees Eli Roth and Christopher Lloyd.  In her latest horror role, Holden starred as Joyce in “SAW 3D,” the final chapter of the hugely successful film franchise.

For her latest film project, Holden will star in SyFy’s “The Philadelphia Experiment.”
