Liam James began his acting career at the age of nine, in his native Vancouver, British Columbia, and immediately became noticed by some of the top casting agents in both Vancouver and Los Angeles. In the six years that James has found the camera he has been in six feature films, a recurring role in two TV series as well as guest star roles in several episodes of popular series.
James's first standout role was as Young Shawn in the TV series "Psych" where he played the flash back character for James Roday, while working opposite Corbin Bernson for five seasons. This series allowed James the freedom to appear in feature films during the off-season, including “Alien vs. Predator,” “Requiem” and “Things We Lost in the Fire” with Halle Barry and Benicio Del Toro. James then traveled to London's Pinewood Studios to shoot "Fred Claus" alongside Vince Vaughn as his younger counterpart. The stellar cast also included Kevin Spacey, Kathy Bates and Rachel Weiss.
James's next leap forward was to star in Roland Emmerich's blockbuster film "2012." In this role, coveted by many young actors, he successfully caught the eye of both director and writer/composer Harold Kloser in his role as John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Thomas McCarthy's son Noah, and had the privilege to be mentored by a fabulous cast and crew. James's athletic abilities were highlighted alongside his acting as he performed all his own underwater scenes.
James's next industry move was a recurring role in AMC's newest hit series "The Killing," playing opposite Emmy®-nominated actress Mireille Enos. The show was nominated for five Emmy® Awards, including Best Drama. Following this success, James worked on "The Haunting Hour," an immensely successful children's series based on R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps novels.
James lives at home with his parents and brother. He attends public school, is a gifted student and is a top-ranked wrestler in the province. He also enjoys skiing, swimming and music.
