Andy Garcia was born in Cuba and moved with his family to Miami when he was age five. His many feature films include "The Mean Season" (1985, with Kurt Russell), Brian De Palma's gangster classic "The Untouchables" (1987, with Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, & Robert De Niro), Ridley Scott's "Black Rain" (1989), "Internal Affairs" (1989, with Richard Gere), "When a Man Loves a Woman" (1994, with Meg Ryan & Philip Seymour Hoffman), and Steven Soderbergh's "Oceans" trilogy, in which he played ruthless casino owner Terry Benedict: "Oceans Eleven," "Oceans Twelve," "Oceans Thirteen" opposite George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts. Garcia received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for his work in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather Part III" (1989). He was nominated for both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for his work portraying the renowned Cuban trumpet player in "For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story."
