At the young age of 18, Cameron Bright has already starred opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Most recently, Bright was seen in theaters in the blockbuster series of feature films, “The Twilight Saga,” in “New Moon” and “Eclipse.” In 2012, he will recur his role as Alec in the highly-anticipated last installment of the series, “Breaking Dawn: Part 2.”
At the age of nine, after getting his start acting in commercials, Bright landed a feature film role starring opposite Academy Award®-winner Robert DeNiro, Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn in the horror film “Godsend” for Lions Gate. Since then, he has carried lead roles in over ten major movies, as well as appeared in numerous television series. Some of Bright’s recent credits include the independent film “Walled In,” in which he stars opposite Mischa Barton; the independent film “Normal” starring opposite Carrie Anne Moss; and “An American Affair” starring opposite Gretchen Mol. Before his role in the “Twilight” movies, Bright was seen in theaters in Brett Ratner's “X-Men 3” as the mutant Leech, who has the anti-mutant antibody around which the film focuses.
Bright is clearly no stranger to the big screen, starring in Jason Reitman's Golden Globe-nominated film, “Thank You For Smoking,” playing Aaron Eckhart’s son, for which he was nominated a Critics Choice Award for Best Young Actor in 2007, and in Wayne Kramer's thriller, “Running Scared,” opposite Paul Walker. Bright’s resume also includes Kurt Wimmer's “Ultraviolet” starring Milla Jovovich and Jonathan Glazer's feature “Birth,” with Nicole Kidman. His performance in “Birth” garnered him a Broadcast Critics Choice Award for Best Young Actor and a Critics Choice Award nomination. He has also been nominated for three Young Artist Awards and a Leo Award for various roles.
Bright currently resides in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
