One of Hollywood’s enduring leading men, Bruce Boxleitner has most recently completed “Area 51,” an independent feature for producer Moshe Diamant. Boxleitner reprised his star-making role as Alan Bradley in “TRON: Legacy” with Jeff Bridges to be released in 2010. He has appeared on NBC’s “Heroes” as the recurring character Senator Robert Malden, guest starred on the hit NBC show “Chuck,” and starred in the PAX TV series, “Young Blades,” in addition to the features “Saving Emily” for Lifetime Channel and “Snakehead Terror” for Sci Fi Channel. He also starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, “Falling in Love with the Girl Next Door.”
In addition to his extensive body of television work, Boxleitner has co-starred in many motion pictures including “The Babe,” co-starring John Goodman and Kelly McGillis, “Kuffs,” co-starring Christian Slater and “Breakaway,” an indie action-adventure movie filmed entirely on location in Melbourne, Australia. Boxleitner co-starred in “The Baltimore Bullet” with the late famed actor James Coburn.
Boxleitner also starred in the Warner Bros. motion picture “Gods and Generals,” the screen adaptation of Jeff Shaara’s best-selling novel and prequel to the acclaimed drama “Gettysburg.” It is an epic and sweeping portrayal of a nation divided at the start of the Civil War with a stellar cast that includes Robert Duvall, Jeff Daniels, Stephan Lang and Mira Sorvino.
A multi-talented actor, Boxleitner is known to sci-fi fans worldwide as John Sheridan, the character he played on the hit series “Babylon 5.” Sheridan was President of the Interstellar Alliance, and war hero turned diplomat, at the helm of Earth Alliance Space Station. Boxleitner starred for five seasons in the nationally syndicated series, which debuted in October 1994.
Boxleitner’s four-year run starring opposite Kate Jackson in “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” made him a name to remember. He also starred as the endearing Billy Montana in the “Gambler” miniseries, based on the best-selling song performed by Kenny Rogers, and in CBS’s “Wyatt Earp: Return To Tombstone.”
Boxleitner enjoyed wearing two hats when he executive produced and co-starred in Showtime’s “Double Jeopardy,” a two-hour murder mystery co-starring Sela Ward, Sally Kirkland and Rachel Ward.
