Aidan Quinn began his motion picture career in Reckless, with Daryl Hannah. Since then he has been featured in Desperately Seeking Susan (Madonna, Rosanna Arquette), The Mission (Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons), Legends of the Fall (Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt), Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh, Robert De Niro), Michael Collins (Liam Neeson, Julia Roberts), The Assignment (Donald Sutherland, Ben Kingsley), Practical Magic (Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman), Music of the Heart (Meryl Streep, Cloris Leechman) and Songcatcher (Janet McTeer), which earned him a Special Jury Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance at Sundance.

In television, Quinn received an Emmy nomination for his wrenching portrayal of a person with AIDS in An Early Frost (1985). He starred in Showtime's Lies of the Twins, opposite Isabella Rossellini, ABC's Forbidden Territory: Stanley's Search for Livingstone, with Nigel Hawthorne; he recently played the title role in A&E's Benedict Arnold, alongside Kelsey Grammer.

Quinn made his stage debut in Chicago in The Man in 605. He then made his way to New York where he appeared in Sam Shepard's acclaimed off-Broadway drama, Fool For Love. He starred in a modern-day Hamlet, directed by Robert Falls, then did another Shepard play, A Life of the Mind, which won the 1985 New York Drama Desk Award.
