Born in White Plains, New York, Waite appeared in several television series and movies such as “Cool Hand Luke,” “Last Summer” and “The Borgia Stick.” He also appeared in “Five Easy Pieces,” with Jack Nicholson. It was through the series of The Waltons though, that Waite became well known, taking on the role of John Walton throughout the series, and continuing this role in each of “The Waltons” movie specials.
Waite worked frequently into his eighties, with a recurring role on the hugely successful series "NCIS," as well as appearances on shows such as "Bones," "Grey's Anatomy," CSI," "Cold Case," "Off the Map," and "Days of Our Lives." He passed away on February 13, 2014.
